Brownells Aluma-Hyde II Spray-On Gun Finish (Semi-Gloss Black)

Aluma-Hyde II is formulated with a hard-curing epoxy base and high-density pigment for a durable finish that adheres to properly prepared aluminum/alloy surfaces, steel, and plastics (including synthetic stocks). It is resistant to bore cleaners, solvents, and cleaning chemicals.

Specs

• 12 oz. (340 g) aerosol can

Surface prep & application (high level)

• No primer coat required on clean, bare metal or anodized surfaces.
• Surface must be dry and free of oil, wax, dirt, loose paint, and other contaminants.
• Test a small area for color compatibility and adhesion.

Prep can

• For best results, use 70°F to 90°F (not below 65°F).
• Shake vigorously until the ball rattles, then shake 2 minutes more.

Spray

• Hold the can about 12 inches from the work surface.
• Shake periodically during application.

Cure

• Touch dry in about 10–15 minutes.
• If a second coat is needed, apply within 30 minutes.
• Allow 10–14 days for full cure before recoating (after 30 minutes).
