Faxon Firearms Superfinished 6.5 Grendel ARC Type II .136 Nitride Bolt Carrier Group FF65GBCGCNITRIDE. The Faxon Firearms 6.5 Grendel Type II bolt carrier group is built for smooth, reliable cycling in AR-15 platforms using the Grendel/ARC bolt-face family. Going beyond MIL-SPEC baselines, it features a Type II (.136) bolt machined from 9310 tool steel, then fully heat treated, shot peened, and magnetic particle inspected (MPI). A salt bath nitride treatment on both the bolt and carrier increases surface hardness, reduces friction, and improves corrosion resistance, while the carrier body is superfinished for easier cleaning and consistent operation. Chamfered bolt lugs and a quality extractor system (S7 extractor with spring/insert and “Crane” O-ring installed) support dependable function across demanding conditions.
