Based on the GAU-5A early carbine configuration, this upper includes the XM177/GAU-5 style flash hider, attached to an 11.5" or 12.7" 5.56x45mm NATO barrel with 1-12 twist. The 12.7" version is pinned and welded to achieve rifle-length overall length. Uppers are M16 slick-side without forward assist or shell deflector. Front sight base is not F-marked. Includes carbine black polymer handguards with heat shields, ejection port cover, and A1 rear sight.
